The Full Story

Verso l'Alto Track Club

Inspired by St. Pier Giorgio Frassati, Verso l'Alto Track Club was founded in May of 2025. By combining the pursuit of excellence in running and in virtuous brotherhood, the Club seeks to emulate the rallying cry of St. Frassati. Just as Verso l'Alto, "to the heights", rang through the crisp Italian mountains in Frassati's time, so too, it will ring through the streets of Cincinnati and beyond. 

The Beginnings

After graduating high school and college, the vast majoriy of runners never experience the brotherhood of running on a team again. The sense of team is lost, and in today's world, people so greatly desire to belong to some community. From the desire to compete with a team, combined with the understanding that everything is a gift from God, Verso l'Alto Track Club was born. We are men that recognize our gift for running , and wish to glorify God with it through competition and fraternity.

Timeline

  • May 18th, 2025: First group run at Lunken Airport

  • ​July 12, 2025: Vero l'Alto singlet worn in a race for the first time​

  • November 2, 2025: 30 members across Cincinnati and NKY​
